mobile tech

Technology has made a huge advancement over the years. In particular, mobile technology has advanced a lot and continues to do so. Laptops came into scene about 35 years ago and cellular phones about 50 years ago. The first computers were impractical and were the size of entire rooms. The first cell phones weighed about 80 pounds which was not very portable. Our technology has come a long way since then. Color screens are not very old, but to us it is like ancient technology. I can’t imagine a TVs without color.
These days laptops and cellular phones are must haves. Kids are starting to get cell phones earlier and earlier. Kids in 5th grade have cellphones, which I find ridiculous. They don’t need phones, they just want to fit in and be in with the “cool crowd”. I mean, maybe they could have them in case of an emergency, but that is highly unlikely. I got my first cellphone during freshman year of high school and I still have the same one.
Cellphones have evolved tremendously, from 80 pound clunkers to a couple ounces. Every year new phones come out, faster, stronger, smarter and better than ever. Almost every kid I know has a cell phone. Cellphones have evolved so much that they are basically computers with a phone. For example, the Iphone has everything you can think of. You name it, it has it. It has a camera, calculator, clock, weather report, gps, internet, games and much much more in the form of apps. We no longer need to find clocks at certain places, thanks to watches and clocks in almost all mobile devices. Laptops have everything, making desktops obsolete. Even extreme gaming can be done on the go.
Social interaction has been taken to whole new level. Everyone has cellphones that have apps like twitter and facebook. Everyone knows what everyone else is doing, at pretty much any given moment. The ipad is basically a computer without the keyboard and the screen isn’t a bad size either.
